Avocado Crayfish Toast: a recipe from Sweden
If you are planning to visit Stockholm, don’t miss a stop at Östermalmshallen, a high-end food hall with plenty of restaurants, food shops and fresh typical food. My favourite place of all is Tysta Mari, with their irresistible signature dish: the seafood salad on a fresh avocado.
I miss this dish so much that I made my own gluten free version inspired by that lovely restaurant. There’s no cooking involved so it’s very quick to make, you just have to ensure all ingredients are fresh and top quality.
Ingredients (4 people)
4 ripe avocado
200 gr smoked salmon, cut in cubes or squares
150 gr crayfish (boiled or ready to eat)
3 tbsp mayonnaise
1/2 lemon juice
Fresh dill to taste
4 gluten free toasts
Prepare the seafood salad in a small bowl. Place the salmon and crayfish, add the mayonnaise and juice from the lemon and mix gently with a spatula. Add some dill to taste.
Slightly cut the sides of the avocados so when you place the halves onto the plates they don’t roll over. Then cut the avocados in half, remove the seed and place 2 halves in a serving plate.
Evenly distribute the seafood salad onto the avocado halves. Toast the bread in a pan.
Serve the full avocado with a bit of dill on top, an with the gluten free toasts on the side.
